Funny Marketing: Rules 4 Restaurant Tipping

My friend waited tables many years ago at a small, well-regarded spot in Brooklyn. (Incidentally, one evening he waited on a major food critic who later gave the restaurant a one-star review. The critic liked the food but described the service as “friendly but very slow and fumbling.” Oh, well: If you can’t serve ’em, join ’em.) Waiting tables is a job everyone should be forced to do at least once, if only to learn that it’s not okay to snap your fingers when you want something, and also to find out what it’s like to eke out a living […]

Why To Buy? The Pros And Cons Of Purchasing PLR Products

Every online businessman needs content. Whether it is meant to drive traffic to his website for PPC purposes, or whether he plans on using the same to help sell his digital products, he would need content to convey his business message. But original content is rarely cheap. Often, online businessmen have to pay around $5 to $15 for a 400 word article. And a single article is not enough for their purposes. They need at least 20 of them to jumpstart a content site. They need at least 50 of them to combine as an eBook. The amount quickly becomes […]

    Google Chrome – Worth It?

An early leak about Google’s new browser has lead to an early release (by two days) of Chrome, short for Chromium. There’s a ton of stuff being written about the new browser so I’m just going to offer a quick first impression. To set the stage, you should know that I’m comfortable with my current browser. It offers many features like blogging, social media and a useful, web clipboard for moving clipboard items to my Flickr account and other sites. Making a switch seems far away for me, right now. But let’s see.

Young Marketing: Teaching Teens to Save Money

Parents mostly complain that teenagers do not listen to them. The opposite is true when it comes to advice regarding ‘money matters’. Teens actually welcome their parent’s input about their finances. In the past few years, teenagers have earned billions of dollars with part-time and summer jobs. Some have spent most of what they earned, while others saved most or even all of it for a big purchase, or for their college education. Kids these days are becoming more and more aware of their family’s source of income and financial status. They apply these money-spending principles when they venture out […]

Photo Blogging – Where Art Meets Marketing

Many people feel that photo blogging is the most exciting kind of blogging that exists. Building and maintaining a photo blog is no more difficult than creating and updating a text-based blog, and many people feel that the internet’s high speed, full-color technology reaches the pinnacle of its appeal with the transmission of images. Posting photographs in a blog format on a daily, weekly, or occasional basis is a great way to express yourself while reaching viewers in an emotionally charged and aesthetically engaging way, and surfing photo blogs can help you to get a whole new perspective on the […]

Blogging Teens or “3 Things Parents Need to Tell Their Blogging Teens”

So, your teen wants to be published and has chosen blogging as his media? Not a bad choice, many adults blog – myself included. Blogging is an entertaining and educational hobby. But, there are pitfalls your teen may not be aware of that you’ll need to let him/her know. Here is what to say: Personal information about yourself and others needs to remain private. This not only includes your address and phone number, so that the child predators don’t get any ideas, but the secret your best friend shared with you yesterday is also off-limits. Blog posts can come back […]

3 Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills back. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is why article writing, submissions and publications are also getting popular. There are already many tools that people can use to make the process of distributing their articles more easily. Though this is invaluable in getting the contents more exposure, which is only half of the story. Let […]

How To Set Up a Family Budget

For some, the idea of a budget is often a blur.  It is frustrating to see how hard it is to do a budget and realizing that with one wrong purchase, you can actually ruin the entire thing. And this has been a perennial headache for most homemakers. It is about time to overhaul the way people look at budgeting.  It can actually be a great way to keep track of your family’s expenditures and help you evaluate the things that you spend the lion’s share of the family’s earnings on. What is a budget?  A budget is a tool […]

Money? What Does Money Mean To You?

Attention: It’s a really interesting topic. I share it with you and I want you tell me your own opinion. Let’s be interactive! If you are like a lot of other people, you may spend a lot of time thinking about money, talking about money and worrying about money. But have you ever considered why? What does money really mean to you? I got to thinking about this while reading a terrific article in Paul Myers‘newsletter. He posed the question, “Why do you want the money?” Although most people will tell you they want “more” money, very few can give […]

Sex, Marketing, Products and Everything in Between

I got handed the other day a very tiny budget for marketing of my product line. But it wasn’t the size of the budget that caused me to stop and think (although it probably would cover the cost of a new family people carrier). It was the fact that the budget description stated that the budget was to be allocated to marketing. Now, I’ve been a product manager for 6 years and a programme manager in a range of industries for many years more. But the realm of marketing has been something of a mystery to me. Marketing mix, strategic […]
